i’m Shannon Hughes
aka Hues by Hughes :)

a little about me…

My journey with hair has been full of twists and turns..
It Began in western mass where I grew up and learned how to be a stylist,
but 5 years ago I found my way to the best little ocean state which I now call home. I have been in the Hair industry for eight years Now and I can't see myself ever getting tired of this amazing career. I get to go to work every day and meet the most incredible people, hear their stories, and make them feel absolutely beautiful! The most recent Twist and Turn for me has been opening Darling Beauty Lounge with my good friend Mackenzie. We crafted a space better than I could have imagined that I now get to work at every day and practice my craft!

I love creating natural looking, low maintenance styles for my guests. whether you prefer to be in the salon once a month or once a season, we can find a style that fits your lifestyle and beauty habits perfectly. one thing i never compromise on is hair health - You can expect olaplex in every lightening service and Recommendations on how to best care for your new look with professional products and styling tips!

I feel so grateful to have found the perfect balance of expressing my creativity through cuts and colors during the week, and dedicating my weekends to bridal hair. From boho braids and sleek buns, to picking out the perfect hair accessory, the bridal world is so much fun to be apart of. not to mention, I Just love love! there is nothing better than a love story with a happy ending and It is such an honor to be apart of that MONUMENTAL day for couples.

on my downtime you might find me exploring the gorgeous beaches of Rhode Island, or grabbing a bite from one of the dozens of amazing RESTAURANTS in town. I’m always ready with a suggestion of where you should head for great cocktails and dessert! some other days you can bet i am at home watching home design shows while snuggling my (very) fluffy calico cat named June!

I'm often collaborating on projects with local photographers, and I'm always inspired by being able to bring a vision to life. I love hair, I love this State, and I love getting to know new people.
